Adult education includes basic and upper secondary education, tailored education for adults, and education in Swedish for immigrants (SFI). The SFI operation encompasses approximately 700 study places.

RESPONSIBILITIES

You will plan, implement, and follow up on teaching in Swedish for immigrants (SFI). You adapt your teaching according to language level and meet students with different prior knowledge and educational backgrounds. You will work closely with colleagues and be part of a team. We are implementing changes in SFI where a language-developing approach and content in teaching with a clear connection to working life and industries are prioritized. As a teacher in adult education, you will have opportunities and are expected to participate in school development and operational planning. An important part of the development is collegial learning and collaboration both internally and externally. You are interested in contributing to the development of new working methods in SFI working life.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with a teaching license qualified to teach SFI, which means you have at least 30 credits in Swedish as a second language. You may also have ongoing training that concludes in VT 2026. Experience in teaching is a prerequisite for the position. If you also have experience working as an SFI teacher/SVA teacher, that is a plus. Knowledge or experience of a special educational approach in teaching is an advantage. Your IT skills are good, and you use them in your teaching. You speak and write very good Swedish.

The Labor Market and Adult Education Administration is responsible for labor market initiatives, social assistance, and adult education. The administration's mission is to guide residents in Eskilstuna to initiatives and education aimed at achieving self-sufficiency. The goal is that everyone who can work should work.
